1.0Interior Designer
Melbourne based
The Interior Designer works across Fieldwork’s interiors projects from concept through to documentation and delivery. Working closely with the Interiors Leader, project teams, clients and consultants, this role develops and communicates design ideas, leads the interiors workstream on medium and large-scale projects, and contributes to the delivery of thoughtful, well-resolved interior environments. The role requires strong design judgement, technical knowledge and the ability to balance design ambition with client, technical and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of interior design concepts through research, testing and collaboration
- Develop and communicate design ideas through drawings, presentations, material palettes and other visual outputs
- Prepare and coordinate detailed documentation through to delivery
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers and project teams throughout the design process
- Contribute to material research, selection and specification, including the ongoing development of the studio’s materials library
- Collaborate across the studio to deliver integrated design outcomes aligned with Fieldwork’s design principles and values
- Contribute to studio culture, design dialogue and knowledge sharing, and the ongoing development of our interiors practice
About You
- 5–8 years’ post-graduate experience in an interior design or architecture practice, with a strong interiors focus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
- Experience across one or more of multi-residential, workplace, education or wellness is preferred
- Proficiency in Archicad and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
- Demonstrated experience across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to delivery
- Strong design, communication, collaboration and coordination skills
- Sound knowledge of materials, finishes, detailing and specification

2.0Studio Manager
Melbourne based
The Studio Manager is responsible for creating a positive, professional and well-run studio experience across Fieldwork. Working closely with the Practice Manager and Directors, this role spans studio operations, facilities, administration, communications, Director-level support and culture, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice and a welcoming environment for staff, clients and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage front-of-house, reception, meeting rooms and the day-to-day operation of both studios.
- Coordinate studio administration, including document control, internal communications, studio meetings and general operational support.
- Manage studio facilities, suppliers, building management and workplace services.
- Provide Director-level assistance, including diary management, travel bookings and correspondence.
- Coordinate studio events, onboarding and other people and culture initiatives.
- Maintain the Fieldwork website and CRM, ensuring content and business development information remain current and accurate.
- Coordinate project photography, media opportunities and the preparation of marketing collateral, award submissions and promotional material.
- Support the preparation of fee proposals, capability statements, expressions of interest and tender submissions.
- Support workplace health and safety administration and the practice’s ISO management system.
About You
- Experience in a Studio Manager, Studio Coordinator, Office Manager or similar role within an architecture practice or professional services environment.
- Highly organised and proactive, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A confident communicator with strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work autonomously while supporting a busy and collaborative studio.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, with experience in Adobe Creative Suite viewed favourably.
- Experience in marketing, communications or brand coordination would be an advantage.
This is a varied role at the centre of the practice, working across people, operations, communications and studio coordination to support the day-to-day success of Fieldwork.
3.0Submissions Manager
Melbourne Based
The Submissions Manager is responsible for Fieldwork’s bids, tenders, expressions of interest and fee proposals from start to finish. This is a hands-on role responsible for producing high-quality, compliant, on-time submissions, managing the process and writing and assembling the documents themselves. Working closely with the Commercial Director, Directors and project teams, the Submissions Manager turns new business opportunities into compelling, winning submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and prepare bids, tenders, expressions of interest, panel submissions, grants and fee proposals from start to finish.
- Write, edit, format and produce high-quality, on-brand and fully compliant submission documents.
- Coordinate submission programs, stakeholder inputs, subconsultant scopes and fee proposals, and lodgement to ensure every submission is delivered on time.
- Build and maintain the bid library, including project case studies, CVs, capability statements, templates and standard responses.
- Capture tender feedback and continuously improve submission templates, processes and win rates.
- Maintain the opportunity pipeline, CRM and submission records, including client and tender compliance requirements.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager, Studio & Brand Manager, Directors and project teams to coordinate fee proposals, content and successful project handover.
About You
- Experience preparing and managing bids, tenders or submissions, ideally within architecture, design, engineering or construction.
- Excellent writing, editing and document production skills, with a strong eye for detail and compliance.
- Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple submissions, competing deadlines and inputs from senior stakeholders and subconsultants.
- Confidence building and maintaining collaborative relationships with clients, consultants and project teams.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft 365, CRM platforms and online tender portals.
