Ben Keck,

Ben co-founded Fieldwork with a background that the architecture industry rarely has at the table: finance and development. His unique perspective shapes how we work with clients – identifying opportunities early, determining briefs and building development strategies with a realistic path to delivery. Good design, in his view, has to work for every stakeholder in the process. 

Ben co-founded Assemble and Assemble Papers alongside Quino, an experience that honed his understanding of housing, community and density done well. Active in sport outside of the office, Ben plays in Fieldwork’s ArchiSoccer team, and coaches his son’s football team. He leads the Systems Management committee. 

Kelley Mackay,

Kelley is a Project Director and Fieldwork’s education sector lead, with strength in masterplanning, spatial strategy and design development. She is known for her ability to carry a clear vision from concept through every stage, ensuring that the integrity of the original idea is maintained as the project evolves.

With over two decades of experience, she brings a depth of knowledge across housing, cultural, and education projects, alongside a strong interest in urban design and shaping connected communities. Kelley is deeply committed to sustainability and to creating places that have a positive social and environmental impact. She is attuned to how buildings feel, believing that well-designed spaces can heal, unite and inspire. Living and working in Shanghai early in her career sparked a lasting fascination with density and urban life that continues to shape her thinking today.

Kelley leads the Learning and Development and Sustainability Committees.

Quino Holland,
Director

Quino co-founded Fieldwork with a clear intent: to build a practice that does genuinely good work and treats the people doing it well. With over 25 years in practice, he leads design across the studio, bringing a holistic understanding of architecture that extends from concept through to the financial and development realities that shape what gets built.  

It’s an understanding that was sharpened through co-founding Assemble with Ben – a community-focused development group – and Assemble Papers, a publication about the culture of living closer together. Raised in Peru, Quino maintains a deep connection to the country, including pro bono work there. He leads our Fieldstudies and Country-Centred Design committees

Hannah Jonasson,
Director

Hannah is an experienced project director with end-to-end capability across all stages, from early concept through to delivery on site. Her strength is in seeing the bigger picture while plotting out every step needed to get there – managing multiple projects across different phases simultaneously, and keeping teams focused without losing sight of the design intent.

With over 20 years of experience, she is interested in the phenomenology of space and looks to embed a sympathetic response to place and context, integrating opportunities for neighbourhood connection, biophilic principles and biodiversity. For Hannah, good design requires a shared collaborative vision combined with clear communication and rigorous execution.

Hannah leads the Country-Centred Design and Project Management committees.

Briony Massie,

Briony is an experienced project lead who works across all stages – from advisory to concept and construction. Briony is collaborative in her approach, managing project teams and stakeholders with clear communication to ensure quality outcomes.

She’s drawn to the problem-solving side of architecture, and the shift in tools and thinking each phase demands. Briony is passionate about well-designed apartment living and the idea that density, done well, is a genuinely positive experience. That conviction is reinforced by living in one of Fieldwork’s early apartment buildings on Roseneath Street – a constant feedback loop on how design performs in real life.

Briony leads our mentoring programme within the Learning and Development committee, as well as project management as part of the Systems committee. Briony is also on the Australian Institute of Architects’ Victorian Chapter Housing Committee.

Stephanie McNamara,
Associate Director

Stephanie is a design-focused project lead who excels at the front end – strategy, feasibility, concept design and design development. She’s known for taking a complex brief and quickly distilling what actually matters, mapping out a project’s narrative and priorities before the detail takes over.  

Her experience spans a wide range of typologies, including projects with a strong focus on public amenity. Stephanie’s approach is built from the inside out: materials and the way they come together drive the design, rather than form with materiality as an afterthought.  

She leads the Country-Centred Design Committee and sits on the Fieldstudies Committee.

Ripley Callahan,
Senior Urban Designer

Ripley leads Fieldwork’s advisory work, developing place-based strategies and parameters for the design of buildings and public places. With a strong instinct for macro-scale thinking, he brings a critical lens to a wide range of urban design and planning challenges, drawing on rigorous research and analysis to translate complexity into clear strategic direction. 

Ripley is passionate about shaping inclusive, equitable, vibrant, and healthy cities and places, and public value at the centre of his work. A semester in the Netherlands during his undergraduate degree inspired his direction in urban design, and the Dutch approach to holistic city-building still informs his thinking.

Ripley is part of Fieldwork’s Country Centred Design committee. 

Nicola Leong,
Architect

Nicola has over a decade of experience across multi-residential, education, commercial and social housing projects. She has extensive knowledge of urban design and planning through her advisory work and brings a sharp eye for detail to every stage of a project.   

Nicola is particularly drawn to social housing and community engagement, having worked on socially minded projects locally and internationally while working in Rotterdam. She works with stakeholders early in the design process to build genuine relationships and enable collaborative decision-making. Years of renting in bad apartments gave her a practical conviction: that good quality housing should be accessible to all.

Nicola is a member of the Country-Centred Design Committee.

Kayleb Wilson-Crosbie,
Architectural Graduate

Kayleb brings a strong understanding of constructability and visual communication to Fieldwork – two things he sees as fundamental to achieving good architecture. He’s as comfortable working through the logic of how something gets built as he is crafting the drawings and representations that bring an idea to life.

He’s drawn to social housing and policy-driven projects, where design can improve neighbourhoods for people who don’t always have a say. Good design, in his view, needs to be honest and empathetic – with an authentic dialogue between the building and the people and place it serves.

Kayleb is on the BIM and Technology committee.

Alan Damen,
Architectural Graduate

Alan works across housing, commercial, advisory and education projects at Fieldwork. His Master’s thesis on comfort and climatic adaptation in the reuse of underutilised commercial buildings continues to inform his interest in retrofit, material innovation and low-carbon design.

Alan is an active member of the Fieldstudies Committee, currently researching bioregional material supply chains in Victoria to make more locally sourced materials viable. His practice extends from buildings to furniture and object design, exploring resourcefulness at multiple scales. In addition to Fieldstudies, Alan is the captain of our Archisoccer team and a member of the Country-Centred Design Committee.

Lily Di Sciascio,
Architectural Graduate

Lily first studied international relations and anthropology before landing in architecture – a background that shapes how she approaches design, with a focus on civic impact and the relationship between public and private space. Growing up close to the ocean (on Waduwurrung Country), gave her an early care for place that carries through her work today.

She’s drawn to projects where design considers both occupant and environment across every scale, from the block plan to the detail of a handrail. Lily recently completed her thesis on collective housing in the Australian context and the potential for socially and environmentally resilient outcomes.

Lily is an active member of our Country-Centred Design and Culture committees.
